A local specialist takes it

- 5
Repaired at your door
They come to your home or work, colour match to your paint code and finish on your driveway — usually in hours.
Photos from your phone are all we need
Good photos are the difference between an accurate fixed price and a guess. Open the quote form on your phone, tap the camera and follow these five rules.
Take photos and get a price- 1Stand back and take one photo of the whole panel, so we can see where the damage sits.
- 2Then get in close — 30cm or so — with the damage filling the frame.
- 3Take a third at an angle, so the depth of the scratch or dent shows in the light.
- 4Shoot in daylight if you can, and keep the paintwork dry and clean.
- 5Include the paint code sticker (usually in the door shut) if you can find it.

How pricing works
Repair prices depend on the panel, the size and depth of the damage and your paint finish, so we don't quote blind. Send the damage through and you'll get a fixed price back — including the deposit and the balance — before anything is booked in.

What is SMART Repair?
Small and Medium Area Repair Technology repairs a localised area of damage instead of respraying a whole panel. It's quicker, far cheaper, and it keeps your original factory paint on the rest of the car.
How long does a repair take?
Most single-panel repairs are done in two to three hours on your driveway. Additional panels usually add about an hour each.
Will the colour match?
Your specialist mixes to your vehicle's paint code and blends into the surrounding panel. Metallics and pearl finishes take longer but are matched the same way.
Do you need power or water?
Some specialists carry their own power and water, others need access to a socket or an outside tap. You'll tell us what you have when you request the quote, and we only send your job to specialists who can work with it.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the panel, the size and depth of the damage and your paint finish, so we don't quote blind. Send your photos and you'll get a fixed price before anything is booked.
Who actually does the work?
An independent, vetted local specialist. AutoLocal is the marketplace that finds them, prices the job and handles the deposit — the work itself is contracted between you and the specialist.
